There are projects that test systems, the team, and the ability to deliver under pressure, and then there are projects that do all of that while also demanding exceptional craftsmanship. The new Qantas Lounge at Auckland International Airport is one of those projects.
Greenmount Interiors was proud to contribute to this landmark space, working as a subcontractor to Alaska Construction to deliver a wide range of bespoke joinery elements throughout the lounge.
From the outset, this project required a high level of precision and coordination. With multiple trades working in parallel, including electrical and plumbing teams, timing and communication were critical. The programme was tight, and every stage of the joinery installation needed to align seamlessly with the broader construction schedule.
Our scope focused on the more complex and design-driven joinery elements that help define the character of the space.
This included:

Custom American white oak wall panelling, delivering warmth and texture throughout the lounge

Bespoke bar joinery, designed to be both functional and visually striking

Banquette seating areas, crafted for comfort and durability in a high-traffic environment

Reception desk units, forming key focal points for arriving guests

Unique porthole features integrated into plant walls, adding a distinctive architectural detail.
Every element needed to meet not only design intent, but also the practical demands of a premium airport lounge environment, where durability, finish quality, and consistency are non-negotiable.
Projects like this highlight the strength of our team. From detailed drawings and manufacturing through to installation on site, our designers, fabricators, and installers worked together to deliver a result that reflects both craftsmanship and capability.
The finished Qantas Lounge is a standout space within the Auckland International Airport terminal, a place designed to elevate the travel experience, and one that we’re incredibly proud to have contributed to.
